People have been waiting a long time for me to do a podcast with my father, Dr. Eric Love, so he could share his vast knowledge of natural healing. The time finally arrived on Mother’s Day!
My Dad founded the International Association of Homeopathy in 1981, and he’s been pioneering the field of natural medicine for over 50 years.
In our first ever podcast together, my Dad discusses the importance of addressing the spiritual and emotional component to human health and how it’s ignored by modern medicine.

Transgenerational trauma
An NIH study on PTSD showed that 30-70% of trauma is passed down to our children and grandchildren. This is known as transgenerational trauma. It also reveals the DNA methylation alterations of trauma in human offspring.
Trauma plays a key role in our lives with its devastating effects that can shape our entire lives. Studies show that transmission of traumatic experiences is often subconscious and people in the next generation find themselves showing the symptoms of trauma without having experienced the trauma directly themselves. Another NIH study reveals that the transfer of trauma to offspring increases their mortality.
Childhood trauma can cause epigenetic changes in several genes and promoters, with methylation of the NR3C1, FKBP5, and BDNF as hotspot genes. Trauma is recorded and stored in the cellular memory, making it necessary to face and release that trauma so it’s not passed on to your offspring.
In a publication by Dr. Thomas R. Verny (MD) entitled, PTSD and Historical Trauma, Dr. Thomas writes:
The effects of the trauma persist because the traumatic event is locked into the cellular structure of the body. Traumatic events imprint the genetic material in germ cells and may transfer to their children and grandchildren."
Since the mid-1980s, controlled studies on the children of Holocaust survivors (in reality – adults) showed increased vulnerability to PTSD, distrust of the world, impaired parental function, chronic sorrow, inability to communicate feelings, ever-present fear of danger, separation anxiety, boundary issues, and other psychiatric disorders.
Adults with a childhood history of unresolved trauma are more likely to develop lifestyle diseases (heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, skeletal fractures, and liver disease) and be likely to enter and remain in the criminal justice system. Such people suffer from the highest unemployment rates, poverty, alcoholism, and suicide in the country.
The effects of the trauma persist because the traumatic event is locked into the cellular structure of the body. Chronic trauma is another example of body memory. In such cases, a touch, smell, sound, even certain types of weather can act as triggers and bring the past suddenly into the present again.
Epigenetic markers act as chemical tags that attach to DNA and can switch genes on or off, which in turn can influence inherited traits or diseases.
Through molecular analyses, researchers found that Mothers exposed to the Holocaust in WW2, showed changes in the activity of a DNA segment involved in regulating the stress response. Their children, who were not directly exposed, also showed these changes.
In addition to transgenerational traumas, depression and PTSD have skyrocketed in the aftermath of Covid-19 and suicides have increased dramatically.
A Lancet report demonstrated that people who are quarantined are more likely to develop a wide range of symptoms of psychological stress and disorder, including low mood, insomnia, stress, anxiety, anger, irritability, emotional exhaustion, depression and post-traumatic stress symptoms. Low mood and irritability specifically stand out as being very common, the study notes.
Being consciously aware is the first stage of healing. Desiring to heal is the second stage of awareness and the third is taking action.
My Dad is one of the sweetest and kindest souls you’ll ever meet. His purpose is to help people release the cellular memory of their traumas and reclaim their health.
Wonderful post!
I am being taught these things by my Bible teacher/ spiritual mother.
No one else I know teaches it, but it is the key to healing.
When traumas surface, they're "revealed to be healed." And all disease has a spiritual root. Get to the root, uncover it, release it to God.
I think it's very cool that your last name is Love ❤️. God is Love and analysis and search of the scriptures verify everything your father teaches.
Thank you for posting 🥰
Have a wonderful week 🤗
Traumatized humans manifest their behaviors (traits) as a passed on behavior.
As an alcoholic it is my responsibility to break this chain of events or process of life! Past trauma is the key. Interesting as to the manifestation at the cellular level. We call it hereditary, but this further definition gives me guidance to further the correlation to alkaline lifestyle.
So much wisdom to ponder. Thank you with a deep love of good nature manifested as conscience!
